Dogfish Head Sam visits OT in April!

His surname sounds like you want to sprinkle cheese and olives over it, he’s rarely seen in anything but Ts and surfing shirts and he’s considered the dude’s dude of the global craft beer scene.

Time to pucker up again Jörgen because Sam's coming to Stockholm!

Time to pucker up again Jörgen because Sam’s coming to Stockholm!

Need more clues? Well his first ever beer was brewed with cherries and since then he’s been making off-centred ales for off-centred people, including 60, 90 and 120 IPAs that make beer fans giggle like school girls at the very mention of their name.

I’m talking of course about none other than Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione. And guess what?

He’s coming to Sweden.

That’s right, the Bruce Springsteen of US craft beer will be hanging out from an evening at Oliver Twist on Thursday April 4th as part of the iconic Stockholm beer bar’s ongoing 20th anniversary celebrations.

OT’s Jörgen Hasselqvist says the pub has ”tonnes of cool stuff” going on throughout the year but that Sam’s visit ”is going to be pretty hard to beat!”

So whatever you may already have had planned for the beginning of April cancel it because in craft beer terms this is big. And I mean really huge!

Oh and if you see someone standing at the bar with a big grin on his face and an autograph book at the ready do come up and say hello!

Was in San Fransisco last week for the SF Beer Week, and got to try even more outstanding Dogfish Beer. In addition to that, also had 120 minute on draft at Amsterdam Café. Thought I misheard when they charged 8 dollars for that. 8 dollars for 120 minute on tap? Mind-blowing.

And to now learn of Sam’s upcoming visit? Let’s just say that I already have taken Friday off from work :) .
